Honoring the Autumn:

A Sacred Circle Dance Gathering

Sunday, October 21, 1:30-3:30pm

Movement Lab

301 W 29th Street, Baltimore, Maryland

(443) 388-9191

In this seasonal ritual, woven together with poetry and wisdom, we will dance to celebrate the abundance and beauty of autumn; ground ourselves in this busy time; let go of that which no longer serves so the new can be reborn; and nurture ourselves in this season of doing. Rooting into the ground as we rise up, we will dance to cultivate the mindfulness needed to move through fall with clarity, peace and joy.

To register, please go to Movement Lab’s website, www.themvmtlab.com. Cost for the class is $25 by October 14, $30 thereafter. Payment is accepted online or at Movement Lab. Credit cards accepted.

Taught by Lisa Bardack, the dances are moderately easy and the dance sequences repetitive. This circle is open to women and men.

If you love to dance, come and enjoy the gifts of this beautiful form of movement meditation!

Return of the Light

Restorying for the Winter Solstice

November 30 - December 2, 2018

At Rolling Ridge near Harpers Ferry, WV

The Winter Solstice, the day the “sun stands still”, poised between light and dark, has been celebrated as a moment of transformation for thousands of years among many peoples on every continent. It invites us to pause in awe at the wonder of the heavens and the cycle of the seasons and consider the role of mystery and the rhythms of grace in our lives, and so be restored in heart and soul.

This retreat is for all those who long for such solace and soulful transformation. It is for those who want to hear wisdom in ancient tales and practice the art of restorying by listening for those stories that are germinating deep within our own souls, stories that carry the seeds of our own healing and path forward through darkness into light.

On this retreat we reweave our connection to Earth and Cycles and Mystery by wandering during the sacred time of Solstice in the enchanted world of nature, seeking to be met by bare- branched oak, by hawk and raven, by still and frozen stream.

We immerse ourselves in stories, poetry and art, and attend to the dreams that sing to us in the long nights. We gather for ceremony, for sacred dance, drumming, and song, and for circles of shared wisdom. We make generous space for silence, journaling, meditation, and rest

Deep Winter, Whispers of Spring:

A Sacred Circle Dance Gathering

The Movement Lab

301 W 29th Street, Baltimore, Maryland

(443) 388-9191

"Winter teaches us that the only way to fully enjoy the powers of the season is to surrender to it and learn from what it has to offer us. In winter the earth lies fallow; nature appears frozen and dead. In this deep stillness of nature, winter calls us to look into our depths, to reconnect to our inner being, to befriend the darkness within us and around us. In winter—like the seeds that are beginning their metamorphosis and starting to manifest their destiny in the deep recesses of the earth—all of our energies are being called to examine the depths of our being.”

~ Jason Elias, Five Element Healing

In this workshop, we will dance to honor the gifts of winter, the season of rest and renewal, a time to go within and listen gently and deeply to the questions and desires we hold for our lives; to listen to our inner guidance that will shape our visions and actions for spring. We will cultivate the energies of joy, creativity and inspiration to water the seeds for spring that are growing quietly from within.

The dances are simple and the dance sequences repetitive, so the dances dance us! If you love to dance, come and enjoy this wonderful form of movement meditation!

To register, please go to Movement Lab’s website, www.themvmtlab.com. Movement Lab is a beautiful space in Baltimore hosting myriad forms of creative movement for our wellbeing. Cost for the class is $25 if you register by February 11, $30 thereafter.

Honoring the Spring:

A Sacred Circle Dance Gathering

Sunday, April 29, 2018, 3:00-5:00pm

The Movement Lab

301 W 29th Street, Baltimore, Maryland

(443) 388-9191

We are a sacred part of spring, witnesses to her unfolding beauty and to our own unfolding. Women have danced to honor spring since human time began, and when we dance we join the circle of grandmothers who initiated these dances and passed them on to future generations. We will move through dances that celebrate spring's gifts -- dances that honor beauty, abundance, connection, inspiration and joy; dances that ground us into the Earth in this busy time of year.

We will dance. as well, to honor the transition from winter to spring, the dance between stillness, restlessness and action. Rooting into the ground as we rise up, dancing ancient energy patterns to wonderful music from Eastern Europe, the Balkans and more, we will dance to cultivate the mindfulness needed to move forward into spring with clarity, creativity, peace and joy.

No dance experience is required, as the dances are simple to moderately easy, and the step sequences repetitive. You can dance in bare feet, no slip socks or soft soled shoes like ballet slippers (no shoes are permitted). Please bring water for hydration!

To register, please go to to Movement Lab’s website, themvmtlab.com. Movement Lab is a wonderful new addition to Baltimore, a beautiful space hosting all kinds of creative movement! Cost for the class is $25 if you register by April 22, $30 thereafter.

No dance experience is required, as the dances are simple to moderately easy, and the step sequences repetitive. Come and enjoy the gifts of this beautiful, joyful form of movement meditation!
